Privacy Policy

KaChing (“we”, “us”) is an iPhone app and website that shows you when a payment lands, from Stripe, your Apple App Store sales, and more payment gateways to come, and lets you manage your account at kaching.pro. This policy explains what we collect and why. It applies to the app, the website, and our API.

1. Who this is for

KaChing is for adults who take payments through Stripe or sell on the Apple App Store for their own business. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• Account details: username, email address, and a hashed password when you register.
• Stripe connection: when you link a Stripe account through Stripe Connect we store the connected account identifier and a display name. We never ask for or store your Stripe secret keys.
• App Store connection: when you connect Apple App Store sales we store a routing token for your personal notification URL and, if you choose to import past sales on Pro, an encrypted App Store Connect API key you can remove at any time. From these we store the app’s identifier and a display name.
• Payment summaries: for connected accounts we receive events from Stripe (typically a successful charge) or Apple (App Store Server Notifications and, for imports, Sales and Trends reports) and store amount, currency, time, live/test mode, and whether a payment looks new or recurring, so the app can show today, yesterday, and (on Pro) charts and goals.
• Device token: if you allow notifications, we store an Apple Push Notification token so we can send a ka-ching when a payment succeeds.
• Subscription records: plan, status, and the payment provider's subscription identifier, being an Apple original transaction id if you subscribe in the iPhone app, or a Stripe customer/subscription id if you pay for Pro on the website.
• Support messages: whatever you send us through the contact form.
• Technical logs: IP address, timestamps, and basic request data used to keep the service secure and debug problems. We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs in the iPhone app.

3. How we use it

• To create and sign you into your account.
• To connect your payment sources (such as Stripe and App Store sales), show earnings, and send optional push notifications.
• To bill Pro subscriptions and keep entitlements in sync.
• To reply to support requests and email you about your account (for example password reset or subscription changes).
• To protect the service against abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your payment data to advertise to you or to anyone else.

4. Sharing

We share data only with processors who help us run KaChing:

• Stripe: account linking (Connect) and website checkout for Pro. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment processing.
• Apple: push delivery through the Apple Push Notification service when you have enabled notifications, In-App Purchase billing for Pro bought in the iPhone app, and, if you connect App Store sales, the App Store Server Notifications and Sales and Trends reports we use to show your sales. Apple’s privacy policy applies to purchases and data made through the App Store.
• Hosting and email: the servers and mail provider that host kaching.pro and send transactional email.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the service or other people from serious harm.

5. Payments

Pro can be purchased two ways. In the iPhone app it is sold through Apple In-App Purchase, and Apple handles the payment and manages the subscription; we receive only the transaction identifier and status from Apple. On the website it is billed through Stripe, and card details are entered on Stripe’s pages and are not stored on our servers. Apple purchases are managed or cancelled in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple Account; website purchases are managed from your account settings on the website.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account and connected-account data while your account is open. If you delete your account we remove your profile, sessions, device tokens, and stored payment summaries. Billing records we are required to keep for tax or accounting may be retained in anonymised or limited form. Backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.

7. Your choices

• You can pause notifications or mute sounds in the iPhone app at any time.
• You can disconnect a Stripe account, or remove an App Store sales connection, from the app.
• You can delete your account in the iPhone app under Settings, or from Settings on the website. Deleting your account cancels a website (Stripe) subscription where allowed; an Apple subscription must be cancelled in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple Account to stop future charges.
• You can email us to request a copy of the personal data we hold, or to ask us to correct or delete it.

8. Security

Passwords are stored hashed. Access to production systems is limited. Stripe Connect is used so we never handle your Stripe secret keys. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

We may process data in the United Kingdom and on servers or subprocessors in other countries (including the United States, for example Apple and Stripe). Where we do, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for international transfers.

10. Changes

If we change this policy in a material way we will update the date above and, where appropriate, email the address on your account.
