Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the KaChing iPhone app, website, and API (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

KaChing notifies you about successful payments on accounts you connect, such as Stripe and your Apple App Store sales, with more payment gateways to come. It shows simple totals and (on Pro) charts and goals. It is a convenience layer on top of those services. It is not a bank, accountant, payment processor, or official dashboard for Stripe or Apple, and it must not be your only record of revenue.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 and able to form a contract. You must only connect payment accounts (such as Stripe accounts or Apple App Store sales) that you are authorised to access. You are responsible for activity on your KaChing account.

3. Your account

• Provide accurate registration details and keep your password confidential.
• You may delete your account at any time from Settings in the iPhone app or on the website. Deletion removes your access and stored payment summaries, and cancels a website (Stripe) subscription where allowed; an Apple subscription must be cancelled in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple Account.
• We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is abusing the Service, infringing these terms, or creating security or legal risk.

4. Connecting payment sources

Linking Stripe uses Stripe Connect. Stripe’s terms apply to that connection. We do not store your Stripe secret keys. You can disconnect an account in the app. Disconnecting or deleting your KaChing account does not close your Stripe account or cancel charges your customers have already made.

You can also connect your Apple App Store sales by pointing App Store Server Notifications at a personal KaChing URL, and (on Pro) by supplying an App Store Connect API key to import past sales. Apple’s terms apply to that data. We do not act for Apple, and the figures we show are informational only.

You warrant that you have the right to grant us the access these connections provide, and that using KaChing does not violate Stripe’s or Apple’s terms or any law that applies to your business.

5. Plans and billing

• Free: one connected account, today and yesterday, unlimited payment alerts, and a new vs recurring split.
• Pro: £1.99 per month (or the price shown at checkout) for unlimited connected accounts, charts, filtering, and milestone or goal alerts.

Pro can be purchased in two ways. In the iPhone app it is sold as an auto-renewable subscription through Apple In-App Purchase: payment is charged to your Apple Account, the subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel, and you manage or cancel it in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple Account. On the website it is sold and billed by Stripe, and you manage or cancel it from your KaChing website settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for unless a refund is issued. Apple purchases are also subject to Apple’s standard terms.

Prices may change for later billing periods. We will not change the price of a period you have already paid.

6. Notifications

Alerts depend on Stripe or Apple sending us notifications, Apple delivering pushes, and your device settings. We do not guarantee that every payment will produce a sound or notification, or that totals will always match Stripe or App Store Connect to the penny in real time. Always confirm important figures in Stripe or App Store Connect.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or bypass usage limits.
• Connect accounts you do not control, or use the Service to monitor someone else’s business without permission.
• Resell the Service or use it to build a competing product.
• Use the Service for unlawful activity.

8. Intellectual property

The app, website, name, and design belong to us or our licensors. You keep ownership of your own business data. You grant us a limited licence to process that data solely to provide the Service.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep KaChing available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change features, or retire the Service, with reasonable notice where we can. If we discontinue Pro while you have paid time remaining we will refund the unused portion or provide an equivalent remedy.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that alerts, totals, or charts are complete or suitable as financial records, tax evidence, or trading signals.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Subject to that, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss, or for losses caused by Stripe, Apple, your internet connection, or a third party. Our total liability for all claims arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of £20 or the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may bring a claim in your home courts if you are a consumer and the law of your country requires it.
